Our Mission
Landon’s first seizure came on December 28, 2018. While we could choose to forever mourn that date as something tragic, we are instead flipping the switch and using it to find purpose and power. This is where Twelve 28 Gives was born. Landon decided that he wanted to give back - give families and children living with epilepsy the same freedoms and privacy that he was given, regardless of finances. Giving back is a way of moving forward.
While adjusting to our new life with Landon's diagnosis, a friend told us about the Embrace2 Watch by Empatica. Embrace2 is a wristwatch-like device designed to detect and alert caregivers of tonic-clonic (convulsive) seizures after 20 seconds. Landon now wears one to bed every night, and it has brought some much needed peace of mind and rest for us (as well as privacy for our teenage son).
One of Twelve 28's initial areas of focus will be providing grants for the purchase of Embrace2 Watches. We hope to help others experience the same sense of peace and empowerment that we have been so lucky to reach in dealing with epilepsy.

Future Projects
Landon was able to get his license after finally achieving seizure freedom. However, it takes many people living with epilepsy and seizure disorders a very long time to regain their driving privileges. During this time they may lose their job, suffer from depression and anxiety, and feel isolated from society. We are currently researching ways to provide vouchers for Uber rides to assist those who are unable to drive due to epilepsy and seizure disorders.
